Mario Farnbacher dominates final of ADAC Kart Masters
Published by Bas Kaligis 1 september 2009 10:04 - Print | | After a very unlucky final of the German Karting Championship, Mario Farnbacher found his way back into the line of success: During the final round of the ADAC Kart Masters at Kerpen the man from Lichtenau domiated the weekend (29./30.08.2009).
Already in qualifying the Tonykart driver marked the best time of the 35 drivers comprising grid of the KF2. He confirmed his performance throughout the heats by winning both races which finally meant pole position for the prefinal on Sunday.
Here the man from KSM Motorsport did not leave any doubt who should be fastest man on track. Being watched by his teamhead Michael Schumacher, who himself successfully took part in the KZ2 races, Farnbacher won the prefinal with a gap of over four seconds. But this was not the end: Even in final he was a class of his own and took another victory, gaining the maximun of points this weekend. In doing so he took the third rank in the championship table.
“It was a great weekend. Finally everything worked out for me. The decision of the championship was really a close matter. I missed the overall victory by only three points. But yet I am really happy with this result”, Mario stated after the race. |
