This weekend at the track in Sarno, the Tony Kart Racing Team will take part, in KZ1, in the most fascinating challenge of 2009. The CIK-FIA World Cup is just round the corner and the Tony Kart Racing Team will face this important event of the shift category having at his disposal extremely competitive karts, as always At the moment the Tony Kart Racing Team, in the shift category, is leading the prestigious WSK International Series with Marco Ardigň. The Racer EVR and Krypton KRX have always contributed to our drivers’ victories, they allowed also to private drivers such as Angelo Lombardo and Patrik Hayek to gain two consecutive victories on occasion of the CIK-FIA European Championship in KZ2, with Tony Kart chassis powered by Vortex. The expectations for Tony Kart Racing team are positive and the whole staff is waiting for the exciting challenge of the World Cup.
The 1.699 meters long International circuit in Sarno, has 20 bends (11 on the right and 9 on the left). It is possible to subdivide this track in three sections: one part is extremely fast and includes the big bend after the start and the long straight stretch which allow to reach the highest speed (about 160 km/h). After that there is a central part characterized by long bends, in this part drivers normally try to overtake and in the end, in the last part, there are quite slow bends.
Moreover it is important to take into consideration also the weather conditions, probably there will be high temperatures. As we have already said, the Tony Kart Racing Team will use the Krypton and the Racer chassis. There models are a guarantee in terms of speed and performances. The chassis will be chosen according to the specific condition of the track. The bodyworks, M4 produced by OTK, will be provided with the membrane placed on the superior part of the front spoiler. In this way they are perfect for high speed. The chassis will be provided with Vortex RVX engine, it has already gain many victories and it will play an important role also this time, especially on the fast stretch of the Italian circuit.
On occasion of the World Cup the on-board camera will make its début. It will be present on all the karts taking part in the event. The first goal of the operation is to improve drivers’ discipline on the track, as well as safety and, if need be, to multiply the means of control and study of the events for the race officials.” |
