Big TRAGIC: Thomas Knopper died in accident at Liedolsheim
Published by Bas Kaligis 9 augustus 2009 22:45 - Print | | The 19 year old Thomas Knopper has died in an accident at a karting race for the German Championship Karting in Liedolsheim, Germany. The very talented Dutch driver from Bilthoven crashed directly after the start of the fourth round of the German Kartin Championship (DSKM) when Knopper collided with an Italian competitor. He hit a wall and died instantly as a consequence to the heavy crash. Thomas, 1990-2009, was one of the biggest Dutch talents. Besides several Dutch Championship titles, his biggest achievement was to become European Champion ICC in 2007.
Thomas had rejoined the AVG Racing team for this years karting season. He was a very experienced and succesfull karting pilot.
We express our sincere condolences to the family, friends and team members of Thomas Knopper.
