|A 25-place catch-up in the final phase to finish in the top 6 of the European KF2 Championship at Essay, a best lap in race that says a lot about the competitiveness of SODI equipment, the status of best French driver for Loïc Reguillon, a new podium for Anthony Abbasse in KZ2 and a few important victories in Rotax Max! Regardless of whether the category is ICA or KF2 or, as recently
happened, “Espoirs”, SODI has always been in the spotlight. The different CIK/FIA homologated models have always shown brilliant performances and the same has happened for 2009 models, the ST32s. Third at the 2008 World Cup, Loïc Reguillon had definitely the potential to aim at the podium, or even at victory last 2 August.
“At Essay, I hoped I could achieve a good result and I think the times I set on Sunday show clearly that we were in a position to reach that goal” Loïc stressed. “Unfortunately I had too many problems during qualifiers to be able to fight for victory. I was penalised by a series of collisions at the start and I was only 31st on the start grid in the pre-final”.
Extremely fast at the wheel of his SODI-Parilla, Loïc Reguillon began
an extraordinary catch-up race, believing that the qualities of his
equipment would allow him to pass several other drivers and reach the top 10. Given the circumstances, he crossed the finishing line in an unhoped for 6th place and proved that the Sodi Team was once again up to expectations in a major international event.

This European Championship at Essay was very complicated to manage, due to the many collisions at race starts. Loïc Reguillon suffered the consequences of that situation at different times during the race, but he was good at taking advantage of a very competitive kart from the first to very last lap of the final phase to complete a great catching up”.
