Podium with Smarrazzo and the all Tony Kart Racing Team got qualified.
The Tony Kart Racing Team achieved its aim in the European Championship Qualification, all our drivers got qualified and so they will take part in the races assigning the title in KF2 and KF3, respectively in Essay at the beginning of August and in Zuera at the middle of July. The Racer EVR proved to be perfect on every kind of track, in fact in Sosnova, Angerville and Genk our technical material stood always out for its quality.
In Sosnova Smarrazzo gained a positive second place just behind the “cousin” Kosmic-Vortex driven by Felice Tiene. It was a clear success for our factory that hit the target also in Angerville, gaining a great result both in KF2 and in KF3 with the Junior Team drivers: Ben Cooper and Carlos Sainz Jr. The podium in Sosnova were not completely “green” only due to an unluckily misunderstanding between Matteo Beretta and Ignazio D’Agosto.
In Angerville in both categories, as already said, the Tony Kart-Vortex did a great performance thanks to the hard work carried out by our Tony Kart Junior Team. Ben Cooper stood out with a good 4th position and a victory in KF2, so as Carlos Sainz Jr in KF3, who won both races. Our Racer EVR were extremely competitive also on the French track, they were really fast and the set-up was perfect in
every situations. It was a Sunday full of satisfactions not only for our official teams but also for our team partners that reached great
results using our technical material.
The Orion-Racing Team S.r.o won in Sosnova with Martin Doubek in KF3, this is the prize for the hard work carried out by our staff.

INTERVIEWS TO THE PROTAGONISTS
Giacomo Aliprandi - Team Manager Tony Kart Racing Team:
“We gained an important result for the whole team. Apart from the victories, all our official drivers and also other drivers using our Tony Kart chassis and Vortex engine got qualified. The Racing Team and the whole Tony kart factory is satisfied with this result, a further demonstration that the quality of what we produce and sell is really high.”
Aniello Smarrazzo - Tony Kart Racing Team driver- KF2:
“I did a good race. During the heats I paid great attention not to exploit the tires, in this way I gained good results without risking too much and always looking at my first aim: to get qualified. In the final I had a good rhythm, all the technical material worked perfectly, unfortunately I could not reach Tiene because I was engaged in a bagarre with my team mates D’Agosto and Beretta. When I was second it was not possible for me to recover again.”
Stefano Macelo - Tony Kart Racing Team driver - KF2:
"The European qualification was a very tough race, I had not the right rhythm .I was about 10 tenths off the fastest which made the race very difficult. However the team helped me a lot even if I was in trouble. The team helped me to improve even more my performances during the race. I really would like to thank Giacomo, Alberto and my mechanic Matsu, they helped me in developing my driving abilities.”
Yu Kanamaru - Tony Kart Racing Team driver- KF2:
“I was really disappointed with my result, because I started well in the practices, doing good times and so I was aiming to the first positions. However I have to think to the future in sight of the final race, in which I hope to reach good results and to arrive among the first three positions.”
Ignazio D’Agosto - Tony Kart Racing Team driver - KF2:
“It’s a pity, I was third and there were only two other laps to do and then, unfortunately, there was a piece of broken curb on the asphalt and I did an accident compromising my result. After that I got angry and… however I got qualified. Despite of this unluckily event I am satisfied with the technical material. I am looking forward to leave for the World Cup in Suzuka.”
