Tony Kart Racing Team is ready for the WSK seasonopener. Before this, WSK engaged a test for three days on the International circuit in La Conca. In the intense days of collective tests the Tony Kart Racing Team did a hard work with all its official drivers. It has been an important program for the whole team, which starts again its activity on the track.
Tonykart had great results in all the three classes in which they were present, which means Super KF, KF2 and KF3, proving that the new EVR chassis, just homologated for the three-year period 2009/2009, have a really high potential and that the development activity is proceeding perfectly.
The positive result of the work has been well summarized by the performances of the drivers: Gary Catt did the best time in Super KF with 47’’076, great times also for Aniello Smarrazzo in KF2 with 47’’798, all our drivers did good performances too.
The three days tests are the introduction to the WSK Series which will start next Sunday on the Italian track in La Conca. The WSK is a “FIA Authorised” championship which is articulated in 7 appointment, in 4 different Countries, that is Italy, Belgium, France and Spain, and it has become one of the main International events thanks to the taking part of all the main manufacturers and also to the high organizational level offered by the promoter.
Tony Kart Racing Team begin the season having: the Euro Cup (title for the teams) in two classes, KZ and KF2, Marco Ardigň KZ2 World Champion in charge and the Tony Kart Junior Team winner of the drivers title in KF2.
Giacomo Aliprandi - Tony Kart Racing Team, Team Manager: “The tests carried out last week have a precise interpretation. During the three days of tests we experienced variable temperatures conditions and this forced us to analyse the performances carefully. We didn’t concentrate on the performance of every single lap and we didn’t use new tyres for this aim. We want to find the best set-up solution during the whole competition and we want to test the materials. It is really important for us to reach a balance among chassis-engine-driver in order to arrive at the end of the race in the best way.
I have really appreciated our drivers’ work and the way the new drivers integrated with the team, with the time they will become familiar with some important instruments that we have at our disposal, such as the telemetry and they will also have the possibility to learn a lot from the experience and the advices of Marco (Ardigň) and Gary (Catt). It is only a question of time.”
Marco Ardigň – Tony Kart Racing Team driver KF1 and KZ: “The collective tests have been a great occasion to keep in touch with the environment, they are really important in order to start the season and to be ready for next Sunday. The material is good, as we know chassis and engine are perfect.”
Ignazio D’Agosto - Tony Kart Racing Team 2009 driver, KF2
“I am thrilled about the team, I got on well with everybody, I satisfied all my expectations. I am really happy to be part of this team, the technical material is excellent, I am looking forward to starting the season.”
