Team TKP in Rotax Max karting and Formula Racing

Team TKP and Van Amersfoort Racing join forces! A revolutionary development in the Dutch racing community: a unique co-operation has emerged between two breeders of champions. The renowned and highly successful Van Amersfoort Racing and Team TKP have agreed to closely work together and partly integrate their operations. They are both convinced that in doing so, all involved will benefit greatly.

Ton Vink: “After the 2008 season, we evaluated our operations extensively. Quite a few lessons learned and conclusions were the results of this. One of the conclusions is that we needed to look into the possibilities of setting up an autosports division as part of TKP. The rationale behind this is that in doing so we would be able to offer an extra service to our customers. Considering continuity and the implementation of a genuine Driver Development Program, we opted for the Formula Ford option. And that is the ideal link between karts and Formula Renault and Formula 3.”

TKP and VAR joining forces

Team TKP will operate the Formula Fords. Jeroen Mul will drive the first car. He has prior FF experience and drove onto the podium during last year’s race at Zolder, Belgium. In 2009 he will again participate in the Dutch Championship. An actual 'move up' is already foreseen in the not too distant future. One Team TKP member has already been earmarked to actually go from karts to Formula Fords. The process is already up and running!

Ton: ”Team TKP does have experience in autosports, but we lack specific Formula car knowledge. We are going to solve this through the joined operations with Van Amersfoort Racing. We are both experienced and good in training and coaching talented drivers. By means of the Formula Ford link we will take care of a constant flow of young talents towards the bigger single seaters.” Frits: “The two teams will continue to exist next to each other and continue to do what they are good at. VAR will support the Formula Ford operations by supplying experience, knowledge and manpower. These will be made available for Team TKP. I have a tremendously good feeling about all this!”
