With the fast approaching Performance Racing Industry All-Stars Karting Classic, entries are piling into the Snap-on Stars of Karting Series office at a furious pace. Now confirmed for racing action is NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle drag racer Matt Smith, Matt Jaskol, Jim Russell, Conor Daly, Felipe Guimaraes, Jarvis Gennari, Cory Pollock and Pat Iannucci as they are all set to battle in the Karter division. Daly, who is the 2008 Skip Barber National champion and a former front runner in the Snap-on Stars of Karting Series, will compete with the First Kart USA squad. The talented driver recently claimed the Walter Hayes Trophy while in Silverstone, England for Team USA scholarship and since arriving back on home soil, has completed tests in Star Mazda and Formula Ford Zetec machines.
Nevada Matt Jaskol resident will make the trek to Florida for another PRI All-Stars Karting Classic race. Competing under the SSC East / Sharing Success Racing banner aboard a Zanardi chassis, Jaskol will look to take the victory in the Karters division. In the '07 All-Stars event, Jaskol finished third in the Karter division before transferring to the tail of the Masters field and managed to move his way forward to a solid 15th place result while scoring the third quickest lap time of the event.
Brazilian pilot Felipe Guimaraes has also confirmed entry for the '08 All-Stars Karting Classic. Competing with RDD Motorsports aboard a Rotax powered Kart Mini, Guimmares will look to repeat his Florida Winter Tour success where he claimed four main event wins and the Rotax Senior championship.
2006 Snap-on Stars of Karting Junior Intercontinental A champion Jarvis Gennari will make his senior level debut with the Tony Kart Florida squad. The front-running pilot will join a host of other Tony Kart pilots as they look to sweep the podium in both the Master and Karter divisions. Also joining Gennari aboard a Tony Kart will be Pat Iannucci and Masters pilot Matt Smith. Smith garnered the 2007 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Powerade World Championship with four race wins and nine final round appearances.
Joining MRP Motorsport aboard a Dave's Performance Karting Rotax powered Birel is Cory Pollock. The multi-time champion will battle with a host of drivers across the nation as he looks to claim PRI All-Stars Classic stardom in Florida.
Jim Russell Karting Specialties owner Jim Russell Jr. has also confirmed entry for the Karter division. Russell, who has several years of experience in sprint, road and enduro racing, will utilize a Parilla Leopard powered Parolin chassis in his hunt for victory.
Along with the excitement of the PRI All-Stars Karting Classic, the Snap-on Stars of Karting Series would like to congratulate Bryan Herta and his wife in the birth of their third child this past Sunday. Caden Michael Charles was brought into this world a seven pounds and thirteen ounces.
With drivers including AJ Allmendinger, Marco Andretti, Townsend Bell, Antron Brown, Ron Capps, Ed Carpenter, Cristiano Da Matta, Joey Hand, Bryan Herta, Jan Heylen, Jay Howard, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Jamie McMurray, Vitor Meira, Oswaldo Negri, Max Papis, Nelson Phillipe, Will Power, Buddy Rice, Scott Speed, Alex Tagliani and Dan Wheldon already confirmed for action in the Masters division, December 11th is set to be a very special night.
