Prior to this weekend’s (2/3 August) forthcoming European KF2 Championship finals at Braga in Portugal, JRP has announced that it has switched to Maxter engines. JRP owner Mark Berryman said: “The whole team has gone over to Maxter. We will also have our own dedicated tuners – Stefano and Marco of HP. Their pedigree is impeccable and we have an exclusive deal with them. They’ve worked with the likes of (Terry) Fullerton and (Nico) Rosberg in the past and have been instrumental in the development of the Maxter KF engines.”
The deal also brings the independent, Garda-based outfit closer to their chassis supplier - Maranello. Mark added: “Both Maranello and Maxter are pretty-much on our doorstep, and this arrangement will bring us even closer together. JRP customers will further benefit from having the same kit as the works drivers.”
Luke Wright will make his Maxter debut at Braga, after successfully testing the motor at the Portuguese circuit last week. Mark sai: “We’ve tested the motor several times now and it’s all been good, we’ve had no problems. The Maxter delivers excellent, progressive power and its quick everywhere you go. It’s definitely as good as everything else out there. It’s very fast, so I’m really happy - as are the drivers. I would also like to thank TM and Gordon Finlayson Racing Engines for all their hard work and contribution to the success of JRP over the years.”
