Austrian karter Kraihamer test Lamborghini at Zolder
Published by Bas Kaligis 26 juni 2008 10:27 - Print | | Intrepid Force Rotax European DD2 driver Dominik Kraihamer joined the S-berg Racing team when they took advantage of the opportunity to do some valuable testing at the Zolder circuit in Belgium last week, in preparation for the upcoming rounds 5 and 6 of the FIA GT3 Championship at Oschersleben, Germany the first weekend in July.
Having already competed at the opening rounds of the series this season with S-berg, ‘Safe Invest’ driver Kraihamer and race partner Hans Knauss in the number 14 car were there with their Lamborghini Gallardo team mates from Russia and Italy, together with the team’s GT4 BMW drivers, undergoing some specific testing for car set-up and aerodynamics. It also gave the newly formed Austrian partnership additional track time in mixed conditions, with the weather changing constantly throughout the afternoon sessions.
S-berg team owner/manager Hans Weitgasser confirmed the test proved to be very successful for them. “Absolutely, as we were able to carry out the planned test program at Zolder to be best prepared for the next race and found a lot of potential in the car.
We had our specialist from KW Suspension Systems working with us as well and because we had both wet and dry conditions on the day, he was able to assist us with the ideal set-up we need. Oschersleben is really a drivers’ track and it’s most important that we ensure our drivers have the best car to be competitive, as the racing will be very close there.”
