Welcome to Rotax Max World Finals Al Ain
Published by Bas Kaligis 27 november 2007 12:44 - Print | | Al Ain - It’s nice and hot in the oasis city where the 8th Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals are about to be staged and the preparations are being finalized at the circuit for the opening day.
As the drivers arrived to register at the Al Ain Racing complex throughout the day Sunday, the impression was very positive. It’s seems it will be a fast track that may not be too easy, which should make for some competitive racing with the caliber of international drivers in attendance. Although no practice was possible on the track this week as yet, most teams made the most of being able to walk the circuit and get a feel for it during the day.
Many people took the opportunity to relax as well before the event gets underway and visit either Dubai, Abu Dhabi or just chill out by the Resort pool.
The karts will be raffled Monday morning following the driver/entrant briefing with officials and then the seat fitting and basic prep is done prior to scrutineering in the afternoon.
A welcome party in the evening hosted by BRP-Rotax and the local organizers traditionally brings all the teams together, recognizing the effort of those who have qualified for the Challenge finale.
With over 200 competitors coming from all over the World all keen to take the various Rotax titles, the excitement is building for what is hoped to be another fantastic Grand Finals. |
