World’s lightest kart seat to be unveiled at Kart Mania
Weighing a mere 850 grams, Iztech Kart Seats believe their brand new IZ3 is the lightest RTM* seat ever produced for karting.
In a sport where weight is everything, Iztech have worked with injection-moulded carbon aramid to produce the IZ3 - which is not only ultra-light, but also very strong. Iztech owner Kevin Nuttall says - “If you’re looking for those vital extra tenths, we believe this seat could well be the answer. A typical seat weighs 1.6 kilos, the IZ3 is half that – just think of the performance advantage that gives you.”
The IZ3 comes with a flat bottom, enabling it to be mounted lower in the chassis. This will also lower the driver’s centre of gravity, whilst keeping them in the upright driving position. Kevin again - “This is particularly useful for taller drivers and we feel that may be beneficial in counteracting situations where drivers experience high levels of grip.”
Iztech was founded in January 2006 by Kevin Nuttall. After months of intensive research and development, Kevin recently established the Iztech factory, near Newport Pagnell.
Iztech now produce a range of high-quality RTM, hand-laid up and flat-bottomed seats, as well as a superb chainguard for the Cadet, TKM and Rotax classes. A KF model is on the way.

Also at the show Iztech will be offering a Seat Amnesty to karters with damaged or scruffy seats. Kevin explains: “Some karters get quite attached to their seats, so to speak. We’re offering a repair service to drivers who don’t want to buy a completely new seat. All they need to do is bring their current or old seat along and we’ll give them a free assessment and, if the seat can be repaired we’ll do the work and send it back to you, for just £25 plus VAT”.
